Hello guys, More than a year ago, in March 2019, I went to Prague, the Golden City. I've heard a lot of good and amazing things about this city and I wanted to discover it. It was very hard for me to write this article because...to be honest, I didn't like the city. There were a lot of tourists at that time, and I was so surprised by how the city is attractive. Some of my closest friends and some family members went there and told me that the city is "amazing", "wonderful". Obviously, I give you my point of view. Unfortunately, I didn't like the city. On my first day, I was so disappointed by the atmosphere, the city, and the tourist areas. The only part, maybe, I appreciated was "Paris Street", the equivalent of Avenue Montaigne in Paris. All the luxury stores can be found there. I found the city really small and the weather wasn't fine. One of my acquaintances said to me "If you have already visited Austria, you'll find Prague very ugly." But Austria is considered a western country, contrary to the Czech Republic. So, we can't compare these two countries. Prague remains the fifth most visited city in Europe. I was aware that Prague was a communist state for 41 years, from 1948 to 1989. I had the impression that the city was stuck in time. It's very different from the Western cities. The buildings seemed to be dilapidated most of them. The Charles Bridge was full of people and it was impossible to go there during the afternoon. You must be an early bird and go there earlier, it's the right moment, for sure. I was seeing around me all the stores, the restaurants, and cafés. One of them, caught my attention because the pastries were a copy-paste (literally) of the french pastry chef, Cédric Grolet's pastries. BUT if you're a fan of architecture, you can admire several types of architectural movements in this city: Rococo (such as Kinsky Palace which was inspired by the Neo Rococo movement), Baroque, Art Nouveau (like the Hotel Paris you can see below or the Municipal House), etc. People there, are not very warmful. They're not polite and I was so shocked. I gave a tip to the taxi driver and he didn't say "thank you" or "Have a good trip", as the taxi drivers will do it in Italy, Austria, Spain, Canada or the US. I didn't like the mindset of people. I felt very uncomfortable and I was waiting impatiently for the end of the trip. * I took many pictures but this one remains my favorite. I loved this hotel's architecture. It's the Hotel Paris. :)
